Not only were there two other Grymkin guys there, but I got one of them in the first round! I had never played the Grymkin mirror before this match, and I was honestly not sure what to expect.
He had the Dreamer in Menagerie and the Child in Menagerie, and I didn't think he had enough attacks to really deal with 30 Dread Rots and two units of Hollowmen. I also liked the Reckoning into his lists a fair amount, and with the Heretic, the Shadow (which is an Arcana that puts a new Heavy Warbeast into play) is very relevant with his ten inch command.
My opponent dropped the Dreamer and I put the Heretic down. I opted to ADR one unit of Dread Rots out for Neigh Slayers. My opponent picked the Sacrifice and Labyrinth Arcana in addition to the Dreamer Trump All Fall Down.
I picked the Shadow and Ruin Arcanas in addition to the Heretics Trump The Reckoning.
I won the roll off and opted to go first on Spread the Net.

The Heretic turn 1:
Apparition on the Hollowmen, Fury on one of the Dread Rot units, and everything runs! Huzzah!
The Dreamer turn 1:
My opponent responds by largely running everyone up as well! He sticks Mirage on the Rattler, since that model is more or less the key to this matchup for him, and puts an Artifice of Deviation down to prevent me from getting any cheeky charges off on his models.
The Heretic turn 2:
One of the things I've really found about SR 2017 is that against lists like this, I feel absolutely no need to come to them. I can score comfortably at the same pace as them, contest with a random dude every turn, and eventually they have to start feeding models they care about.
The Hollowmen on both sides apparition again, and I have a cunning plot in mind here to kill off the Rattler.
He's left one Crabbit in Shield Guard range of it, and I can aim with two Hollowmen and put two 5 man CRAs at RAT 12 into it. I can put Fury on my central Gorehound and throw it away to either kill it off or weaken it enough for Lord Longfellow to kill.
I follow this plan, the Hollowmen CRAing into the Rattler and doing about 6 damage with the one shot that sneaks through. The Gorehound leaves it on 3 boxes (The Heretic cast Wall of Fire as well as Fury), and Longfellow finishes it off and then misses the Gremlin Swarm.
I contest his beast zone with two Hollowmen and put Dread Rots in such a way as to make my opponent leave whatever kills them in charge range of the Rots.
I put my Glimmer Imp on the flag and then run a Crabbit to toe the right hand zone in case my opponent decides not to contest.
My Witchwood shoots his front Dread Rot, makes it walk backwards, and then it removes an enemy Dread Rot from play.
The Dreamer turn 2:
My opponent responds by sending in his Cage Rager to the Hollowmen on the left (and I trigger Reckoning on it), contesting my scoring options with Gremlin Swarms, and killing off my Gorehound with a Skin and Moans.
He scores a point.

The Heretic turn 3:
Fury and Reckoning = Dead Cage Rager. Longfellow clears the Gremlin Swarm out of the flag, and the Hollowmen run up the table.
The Reckoning had transfered to his Dread Rots, so my Rattler moves up and kills every single one of them. Reckoning transfers to the Skin and Moans on the right once the Rattler gets there, and between the Rattler and two charging Dread Rots, the Skin and Moans is down to about ten health.
Note how I've been VERY careful to only kill/damage one model at a time here to avoid getting Sacrifice triggered on me.
My Hollowmen run into the middle to avoid his Gorehounds, and my Twilight Sisters with their magical weapons move into the right zone to chase down the Gremlin Swarm.
I score a point and he does not since I am contesting with Dread Rots.

The Dreamer turn 3:
Crabbits under Manifest Destiny kill Dread Rots on the right.
His right hand Skin and Moans kills my Rattler, and then the other charges up into some Dread Rots. I trigger The Shadow and put down a Cage Rager between both Skin and Moans, in the charging ones back arc, and engaging both of them.
Gorehounds on the right clear Dread Rots and my opponent is able to clear his flag.
We both score.

The Heretic turn 4:
My Cage Rager and some Dread Rots kill off the right Skin and Moans.
Charging, Furied Dread Rots fail to kill the Death Knell.
I charge the Neighslayers into the other one and roll abysmally for damage, although they are Dice off six thanks to corpses and Death Knell. The Skin and Moans has about 10 boxes left.
A Furied Witchwood (I know, I know, should have gone on the Neighslayers) goes in and....misses both attacks in the back arc.
I run the Hollowmen to block any landing zones for a Skin and Moans trample assassination.
One of the Twilight Sisters Death Rattles the Gremlin Swarm off the table, and I score two to his zero.

The Dreamer turn 4:
I lose all but two Neighslayers and my Witchwood to the Skin and Moans, who heals up to a lot with corpses. The Death Knell also heals for a bunch and then gets a couple corpses itself.
Crabbits come in and murder Lord Longfellow.
We each score one again.
Score: 5 - 3
The Heretic turn 5:
It's getting late game, and I don't think I'm going to lose on Scenario here.
On the right, the Twilight Sisters charge the Gorehound for fun and both connect and...murder it? I was impressed.
I move my Glimmer Imp up to lower the Skin and Moans Defense, and my opponent triggers Labyrinth on me.
On that note, since Sacrifice is no longer an option, my Furied Dread Rots finally kill off the Death Knell, and the Heretic moves Fury over to the Hollowmen.
With the Glimmer Imp gaze, they only need sixes to hit, and they take down the now ARM 19 Skin and Moans.
My Crabbit on the right fails to kill the Phantasm in the zone.
We both score one.

The Dreamer turn 5:
His Crabbits and Gorehounds kill some dudes. The Dreamer backs up and Stationaries another, putting Artifice of Deviation up to protect herself.
My opponent scores again.
Score: 6 - 5
The Heretic turn 6:
My Crabbit once again fails to kill the Phantasm.
Agrona and Heidrun move up and Bone Rattler the Gremlin Swarm off the flag.
I kill the contesting Crabbit and Gorehound, and then the Heretic walks up to the last Crabbit, kills it, and then sprints to the flag with Lightning Strike.
My opponent has a Gremlin Swarm contesting the middle zone, and a Phantasm on the right, but I have my flag and his rectangular zone, so I score two to his none.
Score: 8 - 5
The Dreamer turn 6:
He doesn't have much. His Gremlin Swarm contests both zones. His Phantasm runs away, and Karianna Rose comes up and kills Heidrun (!!!!)
I score another point.
Score: 9 - 5
The Heretic turn 7:
Going into the final turn, I have the Lantern Man scoot the Gremlin Swarm up.
The Heretic charges it, kills it, and Sprints back to his flag.
I score 3 points for the win.
Victory for the Heretic!
What a grind! This matchup was extremely interesting. One thing that I noticed is that I got to play all three of my Arcana and they mattered, whereas my opponent really only got to use Labyrinth, and that was a weaker use of it than it could have been had the Dreamer been able to play forward.
Something else that I've been noticing is that extreme threat ranges on high value models don't tend to matter quite as much into dude-spam. I'm pretty content to sit in the back edge of zones and contest with a few guys until your models come to me with this list.
Anyway, a long and grindy game, on to round two!
